Beelink EX Mate Studio 80Gbps SSD Enclosure for Mac Studio
$119.00
The Beelink EX Mate Studio is a dual-SSD storage enclosure dimensioned to sit underneath or alongside an Apple Mac Studio, matching its footprint so closely that it looks like a factory accessory. Over an 80Gbps USB-C link it adds up to 16TB of fast NVMe storage without opening the Mac Studio. It suits anyone who has filled the internal SSD and wants expansion that stays tidy on the desk.
Who it's for
- Mac Studio owners who need more storage, since its internal storage is not user-upgradeable
- Video editors and photographers with large RAW libraries and project archives
- Anyone wanting fast scratch space on a Thunderbolt 3/4/5 or USB4 Mac, PC or mini PC
Key features
- 80Gbps USB-C connection: The latest-generation USB-C interface delivers up to 80Gbps, double the bandwidth of USB4/Thunderbolt 3/4, so large-file workflows are not link-limited.
- Dual M.2 PCIe 4.0 x2 slots, up to 16TB: Two independent M.2 2280 slots (up to 8TB each) support PCIe 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 SSDs, with read speeds officially rated up to 3,600MB/s.
- Mac Studio-matched design: A 197 x 197mm footprint mirrors the Mac Studio's base, with a slim 17.8mm profile.
- Bus power: SSDs drawing under 15W combined take power from the Mac Studio over the same USB-C cable, with no separate power brick.
- Extended power support: An integrated USB-C PD input accepts an external PD 3.0 adapter (15W or higher, such as a standard phone charger) for higher-draw SSD configurations.
- Aluminum alloy construction: A Frost Silver aluminum enclosure that matches Apple's own material language.
- Included 80Gbps cables: Ships with USB-C to USB-C cables rated for the full 80Gbps link speed.

Good to know
- If you configure both slots together, any RAID striping is software only. There is no hardware RAID controller, so a single drive failure means the whole array is lost. Treat the enclosure as fast expansion or scratch storage and keep critical files backed up elsewhere.
- Pairing it with a Windows PC rather than a Mac Studio: enabling Write Caching in Windows Device Manager for the drive gets you the enclosure's full rated performance.
- The PD adapter for higher-draw SSDs is not included.
Choose the EX Mate Studio if you want matched, high-capacity NVMe expansion for a Mac Studio. For a Mac mini M4, look at the EX Mate mini instead.
