Dell OptiPlex Gaming Desktop (Intel i5-8500, GTX 1050 Ti)

This refurbished Dell OptiPlex tower pairs an 8th-generation Intel Core i5 with a dedicated GTX 1050 Ti graphics card and dual storage. It is an affordable, no-nonsense entry into PC gaming without the price tag of a new pre-built. It suits casual and esports gamers, students and first-time PC buyers on a tight budget.

Who it's for

• Esports players running CS2, Valorant, League of Legends and Rocket League smoothly at 1080p, or Fortnite on lower settings
• Casual gamers playing older or less demanding AAA titles at low-to-medium settings
• Students and anyone building their first gaming PC on a tight budget
• Buyers who want the SSD-plus-HDD balance of speed and space without paying for all-SSD storage

Key features

• Intel Core i5-8500 processor: a 6-core 8th-generation “Coffee Lake” CPU running at 3.00GHz base, capable for gaming and everyday computing, and strong enough that it will not hold the GPU back.
• NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4GB): dedicated Pascal-architecture graphics with 4GB of GDDR5 memory, delivering real gaming performance beyond integrated graphics.
• 16GB DDR4 memory: comfortable headroom for Windows, multitasking and gaming.
• 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD: a fast SSD for your OS and most-played games, plus 1TB of hard drive space for the rest of your library and files.
• Dell OptiPlex business-grade build: reliable, proven components engineered for longevity, in a tower case with room to upgrade the graphics card later without replacing the whole system.
• Windows 10 Pro: genuine, pre-installed and ready to use.
• Ports and connectivity: Dell OptiPlex business I/O including multiple USB 3.0 ports, DisplayPort video output and Gigabit Ethernet for a reliable wired connection.

Specifications

Good to know

• Refurbished: this is a professionally refurbished unit. Expect light cosmetic wear consistent with prior business use; every unit is fully tested and inspected, with a functional test of CPU, RAM, storage and GPU, before it is approved for sale.
• Honest GPU limits: the GTX 1050 Ti launched in 2016 and is entry-level by current standards. Do not expect to max out the newest blockbuster releases or run high-refresh, high-resolution gaming from this card.

Choose this over the 1TB SSD plus 2TB HDD version of the same OptiPlex if you would rather keep the price down and still get a fast SSD for your OS and favorite games. It is the balanced, unglamorous starting point for gaming on PC.
